Introducing the Tex Ren Fest Wedding Team

August 29, 2019

#Weddings

Planning 60-70 weddings during a festival season (19 days) can be a very stressful job. The hours put in are way beyond the average 40 hour work week. As the Texas Renaissance Wedding Coordinator, I am fortunate to have a wonderful staff that helps make dreams into a reality. I'd like to introduce the team that I have the pleasure of working with, because I couldn't make these weddings come true for our couples without them.

Valyssa Brauner: I have been on the Renaissance wedding team for seven years. I am a Sam Houston State University student studying Family and Consumer Sciences. My goal is to pursue a career as an event planner. I am currently working in the Texas Ren Fest office helping to plan all of the weddings and group events. I will be taking time off from the festival this season to enjoy my senior year in college. My hobbies include being out on the lake, adventuring to new places, camping and watching movies/TV. I'm the proud daughter of a brave police officer and a beautiful, smart event planner.

Susan Maddox has served on our Texas Renaissance wedding staff for two seasons. She works full-time as a literacy specialist in Klein ISD and as an adjunct professor of English at Tomball college. For Susan, personal fitness is essential. She teaches water aerobics, Zumba and Body Pump. She absolutely loves planning special ceremonies and taking part in weddings to make every person feel loved at the Texas Renaissance Festival.

New to the TRF Wedding Team but not new to the Faire are:

Valea Brauner: I have been an actress on the German Court for four years, but decided to take a break from acting this season. Instead, I will be helping the wedding team this season as much as my schedule will allow. I will be a sophomore next year at Magnolia High School, and my dream is to one day be a sign language interpreter. I am on the varsity swim team and in choir. I enjoy going to our lake house, hanging out with friends and family, and pretty much everything with water. Oh, did I mention I love to sleep?

Andrew Wilson: This will mark my 7th year at TRF. I have been on the Royal Guard all six years. I worked my way up to core company and then group leader. I've lost track of how many weddings I've been in! Hobbies include anything costume related, fairs, and cosplay. I am an avid outdoor enthusiast enjoying hiking, kayaking and camping.

We are all passionate and enjoy what we do. We want to make sure the day is exactly what the couple has envisioned. During those stressful times, you may catch us acting silly and having fun! The special events team has some exciting plans for 2020 that we can't wait to share with you in the near future!
